The Master Musicians of Joujouka will be featured in a new travelogue presented by Clive Myrie set to be aired on BBC TWO in the UK.

The News At Ten anchor and Mastermind host experiences Sufi trance music in the Rif Mountains of Morocco for latest series.

Clive Myrie’s African Adventure starts from next week (26th January), with the concluding 10th episode, broadcast on Friday, 5th February at 6.30pm, set to feature Tangier.

From Tangier, Myrie will travel to the northern tip of Morocco to meet the Master Musicians of Joujouka high in the Rif mountains.

Myrie said: “Music is a reflection of the creativity of the continent. A highlight was meeting, in Morocco, the Master Musicians of Joujouka, who have played with The Rolling Stones. Their music involves drumming and pan pipes, and was incredible to watch. I even got to sleep in the room where Stones guitarist Brian Jones stayed.”

The series follows the success of Clive Myrie’s Caribbean Adventure, which won the BAFTA for best Daytime TV, and sees the host’s adventures through Africa ending in Joujouka in the final episode. Mastermind presenter, Myrie, was previously based in South Africa as a BBC foreign correspondent.
